You are responsible for



  • Define and drive the action plan to improve the material availability of the suppliers of Factory Best. To do this you organize and make sure that:


    • Suppliers are within their stock limits (LSL-USL)

    • Lead times from suppliers to Philips are decreased

    • The supply chain of the supplier is optimized (stock point, batch sizes, sourcing, etc)

  • Perform supply chain scans at suppliers

  • Define and review inventory guidelines for operational buyers and supplier performance managers

  • You act as content-owner for the supply chain requirements of operational procurement towards initial procurement and NPI teams

  • You act as content-owner for logistics annexes as part of supplier contracting

  • You act as key-user systems and tools used by the operational procurement team (SAP, shortage tools)

  • You ensure the workinstructions and processes do meet the Medical Device Regulations (21.CFR.820 and ISO 13485) and meet ICS-SOX and LEAN standards

  • You represent Operational Procurement department in Supply Chain escalation meetings with suppliers

  • You act as supplier performance manager for limited amount of suppliers

You are a part of
The Operational Procurement Team of the Factory Best. This team consists of Operational Buyers, Supplier Performance Managers and End-Of-Life Analysts. You report into the Manager Operational Procurement. You work closely together with this team, but also with initial procurement teams, namely: Procurement Engineers and Supplier Account Managers. Last-but-not least with suppliers of Factory Best.

In this role, you have the opportunity to be part of the Factoy Best which is one of the main Operations sites for Health Systems within Philips. Our Factory manufactures, refurbishes, repairs and distributes medical devices & components for Business Group Diagnosis & Treatment (BG D&T) in a safe, compliant, and effective manner. In this role as Operational Procurement Engineer, you define and drive the action plan to improve the material availability of the suppliers of Factory Best.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:



  • Bachelor/Masters degree in field of supply chain management or engineering

  • At least five years experience in procurement and supply chain management

  • Experience in applying LEAN and medical device regulations (FDA 21.CFR.820, ISO 13485)

  • Experience in supply chains for high-tech machine building is preferred

  • Experience with regional supply base of site Best preferred

  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP)

  • Experience in project management

  • The following character: customer-focused, make-it-happen mentality, emphatically strong, able to build bridges, analytical, disciplined, precise

  • Fluent in Dutch and English (written and verbal)
