The job
As a Customer Support Technician in Amsterdam you will be a member of the frontline support team resolving technical issues related to bare metal servers, virtual servers, storage, and networking. You will be expected to provide world class support to a diverse and innovative customer base.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Interact with customers by telephone, chat, and tickets through customer support requests.
  • Use of electronic tools and communication to support customer contacts.
  • Assist and educate customers on basic to intermediate use of products and services.
  • Educate customers on the availability of internal and external resources designed to help resolve support issues.
  • Ability to absorb and comprehend company-wide interdepartmental escalation and delegation procedures.
  • Ability to absorb and comprehend Control Panel functions and features to effectively troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Participate in team meetings, providing input and suggestions to further increase productivity and processes to better the customer experience.
  • Perform other various duties as assigned.

Experis is looking for 12 Customer Support Technicians in Amsterdam who do have great technical (Linux) knowledge. You will start working in a team of approximately 20 professionals who are providing support for the cloud infrastructure as a service for a growing number of data centers and network points around the world. You will be providing support for all types of customers ranging from Web start-ups till large global enterprises. The current IT team includes several positions like: Customer Support Technicians, Linux System Administrators (Managed Hosting), MySQL DBA’s, SQL DBA’s, Customer Support Managers and Technical Account Managers. The company will provide you with possibilities to develop yourself to another position within the IT team

Relocate to Amsterdam (The Netherlands)
This position is open to candidates with a European citizenship. The office is based in Amsterdam which made it to the top 20 of the 100 best cities in the world to live in. Amsterdam itself has a population of around 800,000 people and is home to thousands of expats and international workers. We understand moving to a different country can be a challenge, but don’t worry we will help you as much as we can with IND procedures, 30% ruling and basic information about all the things you have to arrange before you can start working in The Netherlands.
 

What are we expecting from you?

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Excellent customer service, analytical and interpersonal relationship skills
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of Red Hat, CentOS, FreeBSD or Debian Linux
  • Basic to intermediate ability to use the following applications and operating systems: Windows 7; Microsoft Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox; Microsoft Outlook Client and/or Microsoft Outlook Web Access Client
  • You must have flexible 24/7 shift availability, including nights, weekends and holidays. Shifts include: Day Shift, Evening Shift, and Night Shift.

 
Nice to have

  • Knowledge of one or more of the follwing operation systems:
    • Windows 2012/2016 Server
    • Virtualization platforms (Citrix XenServer, VMware, Hyper-V)
  • Certified in CompTIA, LPIC, RHCSA, Network+, or Security+
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in any other language than English preferably one of the following: French, German, Italian
